Our mission is to nurture creativity and inclusion through art.
We offer high quality accessible learning and development opportunities to everyone. And we use art and creative activities to bring diverse people and communities together and tackle barriers to inclusion.
We recognise the therapeutic value of art and creative activities and how they can support everyone’s individual personal development. Creative activities are known to relieve stress and encourage self-expression. By experimenting in a supportive environment, creative activities can help us overcome fear of failure. At Kite Studios we see students of all ages and backgrounds discover joy in the creative process, develop new skills and grow in confidence.
We celebrate the role that art and creative activities can play in bringing diverse people and communities together. Being creative helps us acknowledge and celebrate our own uniqueness and diversity and value that of others. Being creative involves trying out new ideas and new ways of thinking and problem-solving.
Tackling barriers to inclusion:
At Kite Studios we are pioneering ways to tackle barriers to inclusion. We adapt our teaching and delivery to enable children and adults with additional needs to participate in our workshops. We use our Sponsorship Fund to sponsor or subsidise classes for pupils who cannot otherwise afford to access art education. We are also using the Sponsorship Fund to enable us to provide meaningful occupation at Kite Studios to young adults who face barriers to employment.
Examples of Kite Inclusive Projects supported by the Sponsorship Fund:
– Creating purposeful occupation for neuro-diverse young adults; for example preparing materials for our classes, making kits for sale in our shop
– Primary School Nurture Groups
– Community Mural Projects
– Sponsorship of individual pupils and young adults
– West London Zone After School Club
