We base this course on a tutorial model with a small group of pupils to tutor ratio. There is a focus on drawing in its widest sense as a core part of the course and opportunity for each person to expand their line of enquiry in a personal way without the usual restrictions of space and facilities.
We encourage the pupils to think about scale and to explore the materials they choose to the full. We have now had a number of past pupils accepted onto some of the best foundation courses in the country based on the strength of their portfolios as well as the confidence and clarity they projected in the interviews. One pupil, for example, wanted to study architecture at Cambridge but did not have his art A level – he managed to get a place after developing a body of work at Kite Studios.
At the end of each term pupils on this course curate their own art show, with our support, exhibiting their work.
