6 – 8 Young Art Studio 15:45 – 17:00
This is a trial class for the Young Art Studio course. This is your child’s opportunity to try a class before commiting to attending the entire course. A maximum of one trial class is available for each child per term.
The Young Art Studio course explores a different theme and utilises differing materials from term to term with a focus on developing the drawing skills of students.
Throughout the term we encourage utilisation of an abstract artistic process including research, experimentation, skill development and ideation in order to provide students with core drawing skills which we believe are hugely important in the development of their visual language.
The Young Art Studio course employs a high tutor to student ratio to ensure that each student and their specific needs are catered for. In addition, students are exposed to and able to use our pottery facilities, as well as exploring printmaking and our very own etching machine as a means of exposing them to as much of the creative process as possible.
At the end of each term, students will go home with a workbook documenting the research that they have done, their experimentation, the skills they’ve developed and ideas they’ve conceptualised as well as a final project consisting of a large-scale print or sculpture.
You are welcome to book a trial class for the course at any point during the term, except in the final week, when we hold our show and share event.
