Mon GCSE & A-Level Portfolio Projects, 17:15 – 19:15 | 14 Sep – 19 Oct
This course is for learners between the ages of 12 and 18 and runs in Block 1 of the Autumn Term 2020.
Times and Duration
The Portfolio Projects course is taught every Monday during term time, for a duration of 6 weeks, starting 14th September and ending at half term. The schedule can be found on our Term Timetable (please see the Term Time & Holidays link above). Each class is 2 hours long, running from 5:15pm to 7:15pm.
The GSCE and A-Level Portfolio Projects course is designed to complement the national art curriculum and gives students the opportunity to spend a couple of hours in the studio every week with a focus on further developing their drawing skills.
Students thrive in our creatively-inclined environment where we teach them to draw both from observation and from their imaginations. We believe that both drawing from observation and from the imagination are invaluable skills to have when it comes to drawing as it allows the artist to be as diverse and creative as possible.
In addition to developing their drawing and painting abilities, the course allows students to use pottery, textile and printmaking facilities which include access to a kiln, sewing machines, heat press and an etching press. Our GSCE and A-Level Portfolio Projects courses are proven to be a success for the creativity that they encourage with many students going on to gain admission to and graduate with arts degrees in addition to working in creative industries.
