Suitable for you?
Whether you are a curious beginner, or looking for professional development to supplement your existing skill set, or an experienced artist looking to find a new working environment and friendly community in which to pursue your creativity and passion, you will be received with a warm welcome.
The Printmaking with Etching Press course is taught every Tuesday morning, during term time, for a duration of 10 to 13 weeks, depending on the length of the school term. There is a break at Half Term. The schedule can be found on our Term Timetable (please see Term Time & Holidays link above). This course takes place in our beautiful ground floor garden studio in Shepherd’s Bush, West London.
The Printmaking with Etching Press course introduces adult students to the imaginative and unique world of printmaking. The course is led by seasoned printmaker Sally Grumbridge who takes students through everything that there is to know about printmaking and – more importantly – gets students involved in making their own prints, editioning, mounting and even exhibiting their prints if they wish.
In the term-long course you will learn all about the etching press and the different printmaking capabilities that it offers. In addition, you’ll learn multiple techniques – from intaglio processes such as dry point and collagraph to relief printing with lino or woodcut and all the bits and pieces in between. The course is a fun and exciting look into the world of printmaking led by an experienced artist and teacher. You are sure to walk away with an abundance of knowledge and skills that you can use both in printmaking and in other creative pursuits.
This specialist course boasts a small class size, offering you ample attention from the tutor.
