We are hosting creative events for the Askew Road Arts Festival!

The festival goes on from the 18th- 25th September 2026

“If children are our future…

The Askew Road Arts Festival brings together artists and children to explore the idea that the future will one day be shaped by those who are growing up now. Through artworks, collaborations, and interventions across galleries, streets, and community spaces, the festival asks how children experience the present, what values we pass on to them, and how their voices might help us reimagine what comes next. Rooted in the local area but outward-looking in its concerns, the festival treats children not as symbols of the future, but as active participants in shaping it.”

Here’s our week – mark your calendars!

Friday, 2:45-3:30pm – Opening Ceremony! Join us at Greenside School as we unveil the stunning mural Kite Studios has been creating with pupils all Spring and Summer. A true community masterpiece!

Saturday, 2-5pm – Community Exhibition at Kite Studios. A showcase bursting with work from our inclusive artists, schools, and classes. Get hands-on from 2-4pm with child-led workshops – book your spot here or simply turn up on the day and try your hand at wheel-throwing or block printing. Then wander through the studio to snap up one-of-a-kind pots and prints! And join us in the tunnel with your instruments (or just your ears!)  for ‘Jammin in the Tunnel’ from 4-5pm

Sunday, 12–5pm — Bouncing Off the Wall at Greenside. Our workshops continue with a creative printmaking session imagining the future of communication.

Tuesday, 6–8pm — Drop-in Printmaking for adults and children alike — book here.

Wednesday, 10am–12pm — “Feed Our Future” Sourdough Workshop! Get your hands doughy — book here.

Plus, don’t miss Auriol, founder of Kite Studios, taking the stage for her Lightning Talks at the Curtis Building.

Thursday, 5–6:30pm — SEN Art Class. Come create a collaborative storytelling piece inspired by our very own Askew Delftware designs — book here.
